Top Hand was started as a skilled labor provider to the Merit Shop Commercial Contractor. We began by building and developing a full time crew of safety minded skilled tradesmen. We then supply our customers additional workers on an as needed basis. All contractors regardless of trade know the value of manning their job with the correct amount of labor on the job site. Too often contractors find themselves short handed or worse over staffed for their certain project. Top Hand helps the contractor even the peaks and valleys of their workforce. Working with Top Hand allows companies to maximize profits while at the same time minimize exposure to workman’s compensation and unemployment charges.
Top Hand has continued to grow over the years allowing us to be more flexible than ever. Offering our services to more industries and fields we now service customers in light industrial, manufacturing, clerical and professional. Positions in these other industries can be direct hire placements or temp to permanent. Top hand recruits for all positions from the front office to the project managers down to the laborers.

Our Story
After many years in the staffing industry managing field offices for a well established nationwide skilled labor provider, Mr. Callaway packed up his family in Tennessee in 2011 and moved north to Pennsylvania with aspirations of creating his own skilled labor service that would provide valuable supplemental workforce solutions to corporations, as well as general contractors on an as-needed basis anywhere in the continental United States. In 2012 these aspirations came to fruition for the Callaway family when they proudly opened the doors of Top Hand LLC in northwest Pennsylvania.
With the help of several dedicated national customers, Top hand LLC hit the ground running and has never looked back. Today, close to ten years later, Top Hand LLC has grown to support not only the skilled labor construction sector, but the administrative and technical sectors of industry as well. With a small team of dedicated placement professionals, Top Hand LLC continues to strive to provide the gold standard of customer service and satisfaction to their employees as well as their customers both small and large.
I’ve been working with Brett King and Top Hand LLC now for almost 10 years. They have always met the staffing needs for ship welders, painters, marine electricians, and laborers for our busy shipyard during the winter months. Most of these requests are on short notice, and Brett is capable of fulfilling our needs in this fast-paced industry.
